Round 5 Title Stories voting reminder plus Photoshop Mix and Paper Artist Stuff

As a reminder, the voting for Round 5 of the Title Writing Prompt challenge closes at Noon, Tuesday, August 16th. That’s in 10 days. If you are interested in reading the stories and voting, or if you’ve read the stories and have yet to vote, there’s no time like the present.

You can find the poll and stories links in THIS post.

We had a small number of initial votes after publication, but we’ve since stalled. I suggest voting as early as possible before all the good votes are taken.

Now, then . . . . Photoshop Mix.

For this post, a new original Photoshop Mix offering based on one of my doodles, a photo of some palms (the plants, not the PDAs), and probably some flowers. The first offering is the ‘worn and washed’ look . . . it’s OK, but I’m not partial to faded treatments.

That said, this might look good hanging on the wall of a fabric store.

There are a few elements of the mix that I don’t recognize but rest assured, they’re all my photos.

Here’s another Paper Artist treatment . . .

I’ve seen similar abstracts, but since this incorporates one of my doodles, it’s too ‘orderly’ to qualify as a true abstract.

It looks like something one could hang in the waiting room of a gastrointestinal medical clinic.

Here’s a bolder version with fewer small details. This might go better in the reception area of a sleep deprivation clinic.

I don’t have enough to warrant a slideshow, but I’m providing the link to the gallery (HERE)

The monochrome version (as a drawing) always seems to show well. I think this would be a good match for the reception area of a psychiatrist’s office.

Here’s the original mix as reference . . .

Absolutely would hang well on the wall of a sexually transmitted diseases clinic’s exam room.

I know . . . a short post. Well, I figure people will be anxious to get going reading the stories, and I don’t want to keep them

WAIT! . . . I’m a bit surprised about the low viewership of the last two posts. They covered a few websites that let users create AI-generated art.

Sure, some are bland and uninspiring, but some are bold and striking. And, yes, I’ve been playing will all the tools and will have more to share. Here’s a slideshow of some concepts I’m currently exploring on MidJourney.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

  1. Nothing like blasts of color with a touch of humor to start the day with!

Your MidJourney explorations are very unique . . . some would do well as book covers!

    1. I was trying to do just that; generate some book covers for my books. Specifically, Hybrid,

I need to get better at understanding how to direct the AI, but a few of those are closer than I had hoped for. I hope to get something I can use both for the blog and for eventual self-publishing. I might even retroactively start doing ‘covers’ for my short stories.

      1. HA! I think that would be great!
I always look at the artwork in offices and waiting rooms. Sometimes thinking, “Oh, that makes sense.” or “What were they thinking?” etc. Ha!

    1. The issue is getting the word out there, connecting with the customers, and convincing them of the awesomeness of my creations.

Unfortunately, I have an abysmal track record in that regard, as seen by the low number of visitors to my blog.

I used to suggest readers share with friends any posts they loved, and forward to enemies any post they hated . . . but it never made a difference in my readership. So, either my readers are like me, or they are entirely neutral on my stuff.

. . . I should get an agent, but that means socializing, perhaps even making friends . . . which then I would be reluctant to pressure them into shilling for me.

It’s a tragic conundrum, I tell you what!

Addendum: the above is meant as humor and should not be viewed as me complaining nor as a cry to rally my readers to shill for me.
