The Twelve Days of MidJourney Christmas Styles — Day 3

Before I go on, I must disambiguate the title. Yes, I know I did it on the first post of the series, but this is for new readers.

To wit, the title refers to the secular and commercial meaning of the Twelve Days of Christmas, which begins on the 14th of December and ends on Christmas day, and not the religious meaning, which begins on Christmas day and counts the time between the supposed birth of the out-of-wedlock/illegitimate child, and when the Magi brought him some gifts.

Even then, the title is just a play on words since I’m not describing gifts but the rendering styles for the MidJourney AI Art Generator. For the current version of the rendering engine, there are 32 styles that one can call out (the list is at the bottom of the post).

So, here’s the way this is going to work:

From now until Christmas day, I’ll have a daily post (in addition to other posts) consisting of either two or three styles, for a total of 33 . . . yes, I ran one twice. Each post will go live at 11:00pm Central Standard Time (CST, UTC -6).

The prompt I give to the AI is the same in each case:

(style name) Christmas

So, for the first of today’s styles, the prompt I gave the AI was: double exposure Christmas.

It may sound confusing, but you’ll catch on. Or not. Who knows, perhaps no one will even look at these, but I soldier on.

Right! Here goes nothing!

No, wait! For each style, I’d like them who want to participate to vote for the rendering they like best. At the end, we’ll have a run-off vote to determine the best out of the 32 individual winners. Each poll will remain open for 3 days. If there’s a tie, I’ll cast the tie-breaking vote. If no one votes, I’ll pick my favorite.

The list below is from THIS LINK. Note that in the article, the writer uses different prompts for different styles.

That makes sense because some styles are better suited for some things than others. In my case, I’m using the same prompt for each because I wanted to see a direct comparison between the styles.

Meaning what the styles do, and not necessarily for what they are best suited.

Anyway, here are the styles explored in these twelve days of Christmas.
