Second “R” stories voting reminder . . . and a few more photos

The Alphabet Challenge “R” Stories voting round continues on its two-week journey.

If you are a reader of our stories and someone who votes, thank you in advance for casting a vote for your favorite of the three. Links to the stories and the poll for voting for “Alphabet Challenge R-Stories” are HERE.<<<Link Votes will be accepted until noon on October 20th.

I’m still using the Classic Block (in the Block Editor environment) and I’m having no issues with it. Yes, there are a few things different, but if I can adapt to having Trump as President . . . let’s just say this is trivial in comparison.

So, a few photos . . .

A little bit of background as to why I snapped this photo (in addition to, you know, swans).

Many people have issues with Canada geese getting on their lawn and doing what Canada geese are primarily known for . . . crapping all over the place.

People who have to deal with them crap-machines look for all manner of methods to keep them out of their yard . . . and one suggested method is to buy what are essentially swan decoys. Fake swans to put in your yard. The thinking is that the two species compete with each other and swans don’t tolerate Canada geese nearby.

I present the above as evidence of no such animosity. By the way, those are young swans in the foreground, still waiting to become beautiful.

Next up, on a chilly Illinois morning, a squirrel is catching the early morning sun in what i presume is an effort to warm up . . . it may also be it had a late night and could still use a few minutes of sleep.

The Gallery for these and other photos from “reminder posts” is HERE<<<Link. The photos may only slightly larger (30-50%, depending on whether I cropped the photo) but the details — and quality — are better in SmugMug than here.

Here’s today’s “extra” link . . . HERE.<<link . . . we talking about photography. Specifically, photography and my approach to it.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

  1. I’ve seen a lot of CG in Colorado! I find them beautiful! My relative there could only talk about the pooh they leave everywhere. Swans, of course, are beautiful.

    1. Thanks, Carolyn, hope your weekend was a good one.

As far as Canada Geese, my big beef with them was on golf courses . . . I used to walk, and by the end of nine holes, I’d gain a few inches in height from the goose crap build-up at the bottom of my shoes.

That, of course, is why it was difficult to do well since it messes with the swing.

      . . . or so I maintain . . .

In our yard in Michigan, the issue was direr as the lawnmower’s mulching efficiency would be severely hampered by the build-up of geese crap on the underside of the deck. Many curses were directed at the species, and proved to me that curses don’t do much because had they worked, Canada geese would have gone extinct.

      Take care. Stay safe.
