I’ve been working on this post for a few hours and I’m no closer to posting it than when I started. Stuff freezes, photos won’t load, and links won’t take hold.
This is more like the Internet service I remember on prior cruises. On the Alaska cruise, I didn’t even bother with the ship’s offerings because all but one of the ports of call were US cities and I made use of the excellent Verizon service.
And, the first few days on this cruise, the Internet was pretty good for e-mail and stuff. It’s now just an exercise in frustration.
Keeping with the assumption people want to know about Cruise food, that’s one of my meals. Broiled fish, two types of potatoes, a baked and stuffed salmon wrap, shrimps, and a soft bun with butter.
That was just the first run up there. I usually make a second trip with more of whatever I liked from my original selection. In this case, more shrimp, another piece of broiled fish, and a smaller dollop of the mashed potatoes.
But, people probably want to see more . . .

That evening, there was also a chocolate fountain with a choice of stuff to slather with the flowing fountain . . .
But, here’s what the rest of the buffet looked like . . .
The last five shots are the ingredients for a stir-fry they would cook to order (you pick the ingredients and meats).
At every meal, there’s usually carved meat or fish, something you can cook to order, and an assortment of prepared staples and other meat and fish. There’s usually a theme (Chinese, Mexican, Cajun, etc.)
Well, that took a long time to load up. It’s late and we have a long day tomorrow.

I’m not sure why that would be the case.
If you’re referring to the food, I’m at a loss as to how you can judge fruit, bread, and salad as sub-par just from the photos. Not too mention the selection of cold cuts and cheeses.
The same goes for the rest of the food. The photos are never going to do food justice.
Then again, me being a liker of Spam, you probably don’t think my recommendations regarding food are worth anything.

The WiFi issue may not (and probably isn’t) the same on the European cruises especially since you’ll hit ports where you’ll probably have coverage.
Plus, I know Princess (and hence, likely more posh cruise lines) are moving to a system that provides High Speed Internet cheaper and faster than current offerings. I would assume by next year you’ll not encounter the same issues I’m experiencing.

Mom asked me what I wanted for dinner right before I started looking at this post . . . and lucky for me, it’s a very good thing that she’s a fabulous cook and that she has several delicious options ready! But I have to add that the above look scrumptious!

Food porn! Wowza! I got more excited over the fish, the stir fry, the fruits, and the veggies than the desserts. Looks like something for everyone! 🙂

Lots of stuff for us not to do each day.
Let’s face it; when it comes to entertainment, we’re slugs. We might occasionally watch but don’t partake.
While there is not a formal attire requirement, you are supposed to “cover up” in the buffet out of respect for the eyeballs of other passengers.
We tend to avoid wading through the “Sea of Flesh” (what we call the Lido deck) on our way to daytime meals as that can easily put you off eating.
Most people do have what passes for a sense of decency . . . Except when it comes to the Lido deck. Honest, I’m not judgmental but the amount of exposed rotundity is at the same time impressive, daunting, and slightly disturbing.
Out of respect for the people’s privacy, I don’t take any photos. But, without photos, it’s difficult to convey the sights.
As for the Photo and Video Gallery, I think that’s an area with photos of the passengers during various events (enbarkation, formal dinners, shows, etc.) which are available for purchase either in their own or on commemorative merchandise. We don’t partake because you don’t get the rights to photos of yourself.
I’ll talk about what little we do on a later post.

Sorry for the late response.
We don’t taste all of them. We have a general idea of the type of desserts we like and very few cakes qualify. We generally negotiate down to one or two desserts and give them a try. If they’re a hit, we finish them. If they are a miss, we tend to forgo calories we would not enjoy and would then have to work off at the gym.
I think that’s a chocolate cake with a raspberry cream between the layers and a chocolate topping. But, I could be wrong. I was remiss at not getting the names for all of them but you can look at the whole and then try to match it with the pictured slices. Some are easy, others are not. I should have taken a photo of the names. I started doing that yesterday, but I’ve missed a whole lot of offerings from past days.
The toppings on the uncut cakes give you an indication of the associated flavors. The ones I’ve tried I can probably name but even then, I’m not sure I’ll be 100% accurate in my recollection.

Oh, am sorry if I put you under a bit pressure, but please don’t if it’s the case! I totally understand that you can’t taste every cakes they serve every time! 🙂 Actually the load of the photos of cakes and deserts made me feel full and enjoyed in vision, which, the name of each cake is turned to be not important. 🙂
