I mentioned before that QMx does good work, and so far I’ve shown you some of the paper products I own.
It’s now time to move up to my other stuff. I begin with Serenity Little Damn Heroes Maquette #6.
You can read about it at the above link, but for them not inclined to travel so, I’m here to share mine.
Ain’t she something?!
Kaylee: You’re gonna come with us.
Book: Excuse me?
Kaylee: You like ships. You don’t seem to be looking at the destinations. Whatcha care about is the ships and mine’s the nicest.
Book: She don’t look like much.
Kaylee: Ah… she’ll fool ya. You ever sail in a Firefly?
Book: Long before you were crawling. Not an aught-three though. Didn’t have the extenders. Tended to shake.
Kaylee: So, um, how come you don’t care where you’re going?
Book: ‘Cause how you get there is the worthier part.
You know it’s a good ship when the people who fly her obviously love her.
Mal: Ship like this, be with you ’til the day you die.
Zoë Washburne: ‘Cause it’s a deathtrap.
Now, I know what you’re thinking . . . that’s a pretty simple model.
Well, you need to get close to see the details.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! That is one good macro lens!
Alright, alright . . . I’m just trying to fool ya!
Those first shots? Them were shots of the keychain. This here is the actual marquette.
Of course, if I’m going to show you it, I should show it sailing in the black . . .
Ain’t she a beauty? The details are pretty good as well, but keep in mind that for some shots I am going in much closer than you can with the naked eye.
You’ve already seen a few closeups above, an in those you could see one of the shuttles stowed. Here’s the other shuttle, shown either arriving or departing.
I was going to digitally remove the wire, but that would be foolin’ with ya even more.
Here’s another shot of the stowed shuttle.
And here is a closeup of the ‘flying shuttle’ . . .
. . . and one of the front of the ship . . .
Overall, I think this is a pretty good model. I mean, I’m not a model maker, but I like what I see.
Anyway, you can see all the full-size shots in the SmugMug gallery HERE. Meanwhile, here’s a few more parting shots.
OK, got to go now . . .
This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.
