The Seven Deadly Sins Challenge. No. 1 — Lust

It’s been a long time coming, down a dark and lonely road. That’s right, we have three stories covering the first of the Seven Deadly Sins (Wikipedia LINK). OK, OK, we’re not doing them according to their order. Nope!

Here’s the order we’re following.

The first set of stories cover the sin of Lust.

The writers are free to interpret “Lust” whichever way they please. Also, as previously mentioned, the stories will not be anonymous (most regular readers could figure out who wrote what during the Alphabet Challenge).

The stories are supposed to be anywhere between 666 and 6,666 words. I expect the writers may occasionally violate those bounds.

Finally, in deference to people having a life and based on how difficult it was to write a short story every two weeks, we are giving each other (and readers) a full seven weeks between stories.

We have 49 days to write the next offering (‘Gluttony’ according to the list), and readers have 49 days to read the stories and vote for their favorite.

Each writer’s offering will appear on its own post. I plan to rotate who gets posted first, second, and third in case the sequence that the stories are published makes a difference.

Note: The ‘Lust’ stories will go up right after this post. Note that because I’ve been — and am — fairly busy, I’ve not had a chance to proof Gary’s and Perry’s offerings. They are posted as I received them. For that matter, mine is posted pretty much as written.

Note #2: The writing challenge has no restrictions and the stories will likely span a wide gamut of genres. The majority of the stories fall in the PG-rating range with a few perhaps pushing into the soft R-rating. Some readers might find a few of the stories disturbing because of the topics, language, and/or plot points, and if so, stop reading and move on.

I encourage readers to comment, but it’s not necessary. I encourage readers to vote, but I won’t remind you more than once a week and twice in the last week.

And, with that . . . WAIT! One more thing. I’ll put up the voting post tomorrow (it’s late and I’m tired) as well as cross-link the stories.
