Title Writing Prompt Challenge Round 10 Voting Results — “Once Upon A Time . . . “

Round 10 of this great challenge has come to a close. All that’s left is to report the results of the voting that took place over the past two weeks.

But first, a winter scene by the AI Art Generator Dream by WOMBO.

Of the AI generators I use, two have really stepped up their game (per my humble opinion); Dream by WOMBO and MidJourney. Anyway, on with the voting results.

27 votes were cast for this round. I can’t be sure because I’m old and probably going senile — and too lazy to check — but that might be a new record for the number of votes cast.

So, maybe not so lazy . . . it seems the highest number of votes was in round 2 . . . 31 votes! It went downhill from there, but if power trend lines are to be believed, we are leveling out.

This round saw Gary and Perry trade leads a number of times. Me? Well, I wasn’t expecting any votes, but two kind souls kept me from getting the big doughnut.

As a reminder, each writer wrote a story drawing on whatever inspiration they got from the title “Once Upon A Time . . . “.

The voting closed yesterday at Noon (Central DST time). Here are the results.

Congratulations to Perry for the win and Gary for the silver.

As mentioned, since I submitted the beginning of a novel instead of a short story, I wasn’t expecting any votes, so I was happy with two.

How about more Dream by WOMBO AI Art? Specifically, ink art of winter scenes.

Gary chose the Round 11 title, and the stories for that title — An Ode To…— are tentatively set to publish within a few days.

I will probably continue with the novel instead of a short story since the title prompt can be made to fit.

On a side note, I’m struggling with meeting my self-imposed word count. For some reason, the writing is coming slow, with lots of stuff ending up not going places and being tossed out. Unusual for me, and I assume it has to do with my advancing age and associated cognitive decline.
