    I went there!
There is a big Superman statue and Lois Lane is sitting on a park bench nearby.
    There’s a small, but well-packed museum/shop.
It was fun and neat and I’m glad I stopped there on my way through Illinois to Atlanta in 2016.

The museum/shop wasn’t open (that I could tell, but I didn’t try the door).

I also didn’t see a statue of Lois Lane sitting on a bench nearby. I’ll have to look into it because I’ll be annoyed if I missed it.

The only Lois Lane statue we saw was the statue in the above slide-show which is standing (and three blocks away). Perhaps they removed the park bench version.

It’s a quick and silly but neat display and it was a fun place to visit and spend a few minutes.

Yeah, he could open them . . . just didn’t know enough to wear them under his pants.

Pretty impressive to have Superman and Popeye ‘residents’ of Illinois! Are there others you know of?

We have all sorts of characters in Illinois … many are elected to political office.

But if you mean along the lines of Superman and Popeye …

… the only other one I know of is Dick Tracy in Naperville, Illinois:

Actually, I don’t know if it ever got put up again. I can’t find any mention of its current location. This link shows it where it was in 2010, but google maps street views isn’t showing it there.
