I hate starting the year off with a reminder there are only four days left in the “V” stories voting block. However, as everyone winds down from the holidays, perhaps this is the perfect opportunity for people to relax, read a story or two, and cast a vote.
And, if that’s what you did (or plan to do), the writers want to add their thanks to their wishes for a great 2021. Links to the stories and the poll for voting for “Alphabet Challenge V-Stories” are HERE(link) Votes will be accepted until Noon (Central Time) on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
I dug back a few years for these photos . . . .
This was taken from the beach located approximately 7 miles north of Kailua-Kona, Kohanaiki Beach Park — also referred to as Pine Trees Beach — located on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi.
We’ve not seen many surfers since moving to Illinois. We have seen a few beaches at various man-made lakes, but no board surfers and not much in the way of body-surfing.
To be clear, in Hawaiʻi, we were always just spectators. In fact, in the almost three years we lived there, the only time the ocean touched any part of me was when a splash from a wave would hit my shoes . . . and I’d then scream like a little girl and run further inland.
Other people, though . . . man did they love to get into the water!
A few days ago, I did a post about this blog’s stats (LINK). For them not into the lingo, ‘stats’ are basically numbers.
Anyway, subsequent conversations with other bloggers prompted me to do a more thorough check on my visitor’s countries of origin. These are lifetime numbers — from March 2010 — and not just this week.

That’s a lot of countries . . . but not all of them. Here are the ones I’m missing. Or, as I call them, The Slakers:
Azerbaijan, Botswana, Central African Republic, Cuba, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Lesotho, Liberia, Mauritania, North Korea, Senegal, Somalia, Svalbard, Tajikistan, The Gambia, Turkmenistan, Vanuatu, and Western Sahara.
Oh, just one more thing . . . the Falkland Islands are also slackers.
This LINK will take you to the SmugMug gallery that has the full-size versions of the above and also photos in recent reminder posts.
Oh . . . I should link a few old posts just to flesh out this offering . . . how about THIS<<link and THIS<<link to posts that are about frost and driving? Yes, I know these will get at most two clicks, but I’m still gonna include them here.
That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.
