Alphabet stories voting and a new theme.

The voting is unusually close (at the time of this writing) for The Alphabet Challenge “S” Stories poll. Perhaps as a reflection of what’s happening elsewhere, the race for the top spot is tight. Unlike what might be happening elsewhere, this voting is not fraught with contention, and voters are not under any pressure since the results won’t matter much to anyone other than the writers.

If you are a reader of our stories and have a strong opinion about which of the stories you liked the best (or disliked the least), and if you participate in the poll, thank you in advance. Links to the stories and the poll for the “Alphabet Challenge S-Stories” are HERE(link) Votes will be accepted until noon on November 8th.

So, I was having some issues with the theme I had chosen. Specifically, photos were not being presented as I liked, especially in older posts.

. . . so, here it is, a different theme. There are a few things I like with this theme . . .

  • it has a clean look.
  • when looking at a post, there is a navigation bar on the right side that allows you to go to the next or previous posts (something I like when browsing).
  • It resizes the photos depending on the size of the window (on the PC; as previously mentioned, WP handles mobile devices without regard to the theme choices I make for the PC).
  • I run a “dark” option on my browser and for this theme, the ont remains legible (easier to read, even). A big plus for me because I’m on the PC alot and I’m prone to the occasional occular headache.

There are a few things I don’t like:

  • The header is much too big for my liking, as is the menu area. I imagine that on small screens this will not look that good.
  • The header and title fonts are too big no matter which font I choose (rather, bigger than I like). Interestingly, if I choose “small” as opposed to “normal”, it makes the font larger.
  • The drop-down menu is not to my liking. but I almost never use it, and I don’t know anyone who does.

There are two other themes I sort-of liked, but I’ll leave this one up for a few days to see if it suits me.

Obviously, if you have any feedback, feel free to comment, especially if something is not working on your device.

And, another photo . . .

Here are a couple of links to other (older) posts for anyone wanting to check out how this theme does with previous content:

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.
