“R” stories voting reminder . . . and a few photos

The Alphabet Challenge “R” Stories voting round is off to a slow start, and that’s understandable . . . to everyone but us writers.

OK, that’s a joke. I shouldn’t have to explain that, but these days it’s best to make things perfectly clear; I’m kidding.

I know our regular readers likely will get around to reading and voting, and we writers want you to know we are thankful for each and every one of you. Oh, yeah . . . also the irregular readers who stop by and contribute to the voting.

If you are a reader of our stories and someone who votes, thank you in advance for casting a vote for your favorite of the three. Links to the stories and the poll for voting for “Alphabet Challenge R-Stories” are HERE.<<<Link Votes will be accepted until noon on October 20th.

Believe it or not, I’m using the Classic Block editor as opposed to the Classic Editor to compose this post.

Wanna know why? Because in the course of writing the guide to the Classic Block, I got used to it and it’s not functionally different from the Classic Editor (except for how I insert photos).

Speaking of photos . . .

Seagull walking along the beachYes, that’s a seagull out for a stroll on a Michigan beach (that’s Lake Michigan in the background).

You can guess what comes next . . .

Seagull walking along the beach (monochrome)This is one of those cases when the monochrome version of a photo looks better than the color version . . . or, at least, I think so.

That’s probably not the case with this next shot . . .

Fall foliage in monochromeDon’t get me wrong, I think that’s a nifty photograph.

Well, OK . . . I think that — just like my stories — all my photos are nifty. Not great, not award-winning . . . just nifty.

Here’s the color version . . .

What do you think? Better? Different, but still nifty?

Here’s something that could pass for one of OneOwner’s offerings . . .

Algae and lake waves on a rockWhat the heck is that,” you ask?

Well, it’s algae on a rock with water from a receeding wave. Here’s the color — and more recognizable — version.

Algae and water on a rockThis next photo is only offered in monochrome.

In fact, it can only be offered in monochrome because the color version would not convey the same feeling. I won’t explain what the feeling is as that will vary from reader to reader.

The Gallery for these and other photos from “reminder posts” is HERE<<<Link. The photos may only slightly larger (30-50%, depending on whether I cropped the photo) but the details — and quality — are better in SmugMug than here.

Here’s today’s “extra” link . . . HERE.<<link . . . a bit of stuff from a visit to Santa Fe, NM.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

  1. I always enjoy monochrome photos.
But, gotta’ say…these three color photos…the colors, color patterns, and textures…are so cool!
    I am still reading stories…then I will ponder them…then I will vote.
    HUGS!!! 🙂
PS…I think that seagull has a bit of swagger in his stroll.
