All readers have to do is read each story and choose the one they liked best. Voting is open until the publication of the next group of stories (the “O” stories) at which time the votes will be tallied and a winner declared.

You guys are making this so difficult!
BTW: I wanted say that you all awe and amaze me with the quality of stories you are writing and I admire that and how quickly you do so.
Do you feel like you are growing in your writing by taking on this challenge each month?

On a personal note about the growth stuff . . . not particularly, in part because I’m always scrambling to meet the deadline, so it’s not a disciplined effort. But, I enjoy writing, and I am pleasantly surprised whenever I push one out at the last minute.
I spend about 2-3 hours on each story (including editing). Occasionally, it’s been five or six hours when I struggled to come up with stuff. I should take a few days on each and really put some meat on them . . . but it seems like work. I rather have fun.

I’m really enjoying watching the voting results of these three. Two are really fighting neck and neck . . . and soon will be nose to nose!

Where did all these readers/voters come from? Is someone finally counting the mail-in ballots? Overall, it’s not my fave set of three AlphaStories (trademark that) but I do think they were way more equal in quality – and entertainment value – than the voting shows. Really, voters? While Neighbors did gross me out a bit once I figured out what was going on (or have I?) it brought me back to an earlier AlphaStory about a retired plastic surgeon. And mention of twins…again? Has one author – or two – ever failed to mention twins so far? I still can’t tell who’s who or what’s whose or whose what or whatever but I did learn a new word: logy.

Thanks, Laura. No mail-in ballots here. I considered having people vote by leaving a comment, but the poll seemed a better approach.
It also filters for duplicate votes and automatically tallies the votes (less work for me).
As for where all the votes come from, it’s my working theory the twins have mucho mas amigos than antisocial me. Perhaps they are mobilizing said friends in the voting effort. I believe you are one such example as it’s unlikely you would have chanced on this blog on your own.
As for your impression of the stories, thank you for your continued input.

I think you guys should set up a Facebook page for folks who love reading short stories. Of course FB is skewed to an older demographic but it would be a service to those who like reading stuff in 13 minutes or less! You could link to your Disperser Tracks. Something to think about!

I already post a link to my personal Facebook timeline, and the twins send it out to their friends and families.
A FB page might slightly increase the distribution, but then it requires maintenance, and I already have too many interests.
Besides, if we were all that interesting, our readers would spread the word for us.
I mean, you’d be surprised how few people forward stuff to friends or family . . . unless it’s something political or religious or about kittens. Hmm . . . perhaps I should write about Oscar for my next story: a Republican kitten turned atheist.
There’s also the fact I want little to do with Facebook (and Twitter) as it’s mostly a cesspool of misinformation and I’m considering terminating my account on both (accounts I only got to lock down my name).
But, again, thank you for the patronage and engagement, both via voting and by leaving comments.
