So . . . Doe and Fawn . . . we’ve had a doe and fan hanging around the yard last week. We saw them a number of times and I was lucky to see them out my office window.
Unfortunately, I’m shooting with them in the shade and through a window and screen. Still, with a little manipulation, the photos are passable.

The doe noticed me opening the blinds, so she kept an eye on the window.

This next shot is right before they headed across the road (I was too late going out, and missed a photo without the screen) . . .
But, the reason I waited to head outside was because I shot this video . . .

And, yes, that’s a drainage ditch to the side of the house. As I mentioned, it had been raining on and off, and sometimes pretty hard.
The ditch drains a number of property to our West and continues well to our East, joining progressively larger channels and eventually empties off the Louisiana coast and into the Gulf of Mexico. Because the ground is pretty flat upstream of that location, when it gets there (and further down) the water starts picking up speed. It’s rarely above what you see, and that’s moving fast because it narrows right there and drops in elevation.

Thanks, Ann. I worry about the fawn because it runs around without checking if there are cars and there are always idiots who drive too fast in the neighborhood.
. . . another reason I think automated machine guns would be an excellent method of enforcement of the speed limit . . .
