Thai Basil and “K” stories voting reminder

Current voting for the “K” stories is . . . baffling? I didn’t think it would lean the way it’s leaning. But that’s the thing with readers; they can surprise you. If that sounds intriguing, give the stories a read and vote for the “Alphabet Challenge K-Stories” HERE.<<<This Is A Link

Clicking on the above link will take you to the post with the poll where you can cast your vote. The post also contains links to the individual stories. After voting, readers can — if so moved — spread the news about the story to friends and family. Or, not. But, we hope for yes.

So . . . Thai basil

I didn’t know what these were. All I knew is that Melisa clipped them and once close, I thought the flowers were pretty neat. .

So, these are the flowers of the Thai Basil plant. <<<This is a link.

Unless you look at them pretty close, you would miss their beauty. The stems themselves look unassuming unless looking at them from just a few feet away.

Even then, you have to get close to notice the details.

As usual, you can go see the full-size versions in this SmugMug Gallery. <<<This is a link

Let me give you a few more close-ups of these beauties . . .

Not bad, if you ask me, but then, I’m biased.

For them who like monochrome treatments of color photos, here’s a gallery of the above but in B&G&W.

And, because sometimes finding everything in one place is a small joy in itself, all of them in one randomize gallery.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

I was not familiar with Thai basil before you brought it to my attention here. It does have exquisite flowers, made even more striking by the dark rich color of the sepal, leaves and stem. Has Melisa used it in her cooking?

  2. I’ve never seen or had Thai basil.
What a unique and beautiful plant/herb!
Let us know how it tastes!
There are some herbs we’ve been able to grow easily…for example, rosemary. We use our herbs and share them with our neighbors.
