“I” stories voting reminder and stuff

It’s been a few days since the “I” stories went up.

Therefore, ergo, thus, here’s a quick reminder to — if so inclined — please read the stories. After, if receptive to the idea, the writers hope you’ll make the effort and vote for your favorite of the “Alphabet Challenge I-Stories” HERE.

That post has links to the individual stories and the poll where readers can click a box to indicate their appreciation for their favorite. And, after voting, readers can spread the news about the story to friends and family. Maybe.

So, stuff . . . .

My sisters reminded me it was 54 years today that we (our family) came to the US. I  almost sang Neil Diamond’s Coming to America in celebration. Of course, we came by plane, not boat. Plus, I can’t sing worth a darn.

Anyway, this is a quick post because of stuff . . . so here’s a photo . . .

That “tufted” fellow is likely a juvenile House finch sticking close to its parent. I can’t confirm that, but that’s what I think. Unfortunately, the Internet let me down and I could not find similar juvenile photos (and I checked other likely birds, turning up nothing).

Not the same parent, but the same species . . .

It could be a parent, though, because it appears tired and nearly falling asleep.

More stuff . . .

One of the bloggers I follow (doesitevenmatter3, or diem3 for short) posted the following (I’d link her blog but it’s private):

The single has a five-track collection of multi-language duet versions, sung with several internationally acclaimed vocalists in their native tongue…including…

Zaz (“Appelle Ton Amour” – French Version)

Faouzia (“كنتحداك” –  Arabic Version)

Blas Cantó (“Te Reto A Amar” – Spanish Version)

Glasperlenspiel (“Trau Dich” – German Version)

and Maya Buskila (“בוא נראה”- Hebrew Version)

Here is the English version…

She posted it to bring some positivity into her reader’s lives . . . not a bad thing, that. Plus, the song is pretty good.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

  1. Wow. 54 years. Overall was it a good move?!?! I’m just curious.

Beautiful finches! They are fun to watch!

Thanks for reposting the song(s). I love that it is has multi-language duet versions.

I’ve always believe love is a choice…even on tough days we can choose to love, even when people aren’t acting lovely, or being love-able, we can choose to love, etc.

I thought this verse was especially timely, and it is helpful to me…

“We’re all full of hope, tryna stay afloat, tryna save one another
People let you drown ’cause they don’t know how to stay above water
When they’re too broken to know what they’ve put you through
Do the only thing that you’d want done to you
Oh, I dare you to love (dare you to love)”

When I post songs I wonder if anyone even listens to them. So I appreciate that you do. Thank you, Emilio!
And thank you for the songs you’ve posted. You’ve introduced me to some songs, and some singers/musicians I’d not heard before. Great stuff! :-)
(((HUGS))) to you, Melisa, and your whole family

Great move . . . well . . . so far. Now we’re kind of a pickle (but still a pretty good place to be).

I forgot to mention . . . the Spirit of St. Louis completed the transatlantic flight on May 21st . . . 1927. Except, Lindberg was heading the other way.

If I follow a blog, I read it. And I’m always on the lookout for decent music. Thank you for posting it, and thanks for the comment.

The finches are cute as always . . . have been getting lots of serenades from them these past days.

And thanks re-posting the two videos. They’re both great!

I see them here, but don’t hear them much. Mostly Cardinals, Song Sparrows, Robins, Grackles, and doves. Oh, and Red-winged Blackbirds.

      Yes, interesting production, too.
