The Alphabet Challenge: “H” Stories Voting

Assuming everyone has read the stories, this is the place where you can vote for your favorite of the “H” Stories.

NOTE: there was an accidental and incorrect posting of “The Home“, the first of the three stories. That post was deleted and a new post published. If you didn’t receive the new post, please click on the link below to read the story.

For readers who stumbled here or who need a refresher, the stories can be found by clicking on their respective names.

Here are the links to the stories:

The Home

Hedgehog Hustle

Homophyly

All readers have to do is read each story and choose the one they liked best. Voting is open until the publication of the next group of stories (the “I” stories) at which time the votes will be tallied and a winner declared.

As a reminder, to have your vote count, click on the circle next to the story you’re voting for, and then click on “Vote”. If you don’t click on “Vote”, your choice won’t be recorded.

If you would like to leave a comment for the writers — either here or with the individual stories posts — please do so. I will forward each comment/question to the appropriate writer.

The writers will appreciate hearing from you and will likely respond.

The next round of stories — the “I” Stories — should be up around the middle of May.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

Okay, I just voted. The H story I voted for is winning by a long shot but it took me longer to decide than it took to read them. I am SHOCKED that my second choice (and it was even closer – for me -than in the G voting) is a very distant third in the voting. WTH? My guess is you have a lot of sci fi fans out there. I do appreciate sci-fi; the films Ex Machina and the South African District 9 come to mind but this Homophyly didn’t do a-n-y-t-h-I-n-g for me.

A’way, I can’t wait to see who wrote what. I think I might know after the last round but we’ll see. So, back to The Home and Hedgehog Hustle. Guess cuz I am of That Age I have dealt w/senior living homes, The Home really got to me plus it was easy to read, and entertaining in both sweet and horrifying ways. Perhaps the only reason why I didn’t pick it as the winner was that ending. While beyond cleaver it was grossing me out. On a brighter note it made me spray some of my old lady Lilac scented perfume. Re Hedgehog Hustle, likeTrinity listening to the ball story, this story took me a while to get into but what a terrific story and yes, I even shed a tear or two – happy tears – at the end so that tugged at my heart strings whereas I thought Antonio and Sophia’s story was going to lead me in that direction but geez…what a sweet horror story I guess!

Also, I noticed two stories w/Tonys (actually three males w/that name), a Brox (Broxson?) and twin mentions. Keep up the entertainment guys!

I will pass this on to us writers. I’m guessing one of us writers will be crying in their pillow tonight and one will be bouncing atop the bed being careful not to hit his head on the ceiling.

Thanks for voting and especially for the feedback.

  3. I’m a sucker for baseball stories. So this one wasn’t even close. I did not enjoy story # 1 at all and story # 3 was rather boring.

Thank you, ccj . . . I’ll pass this along to the writers, one of which will likely be ecstatic and will lord your comment over the other two . . . as it should be.
