The year 2019 in photos — Part I

Although an arbitrary measure of time, the ending of each year brings out everyone’s desire to mark the occasion with a retrospective.

Who am I to buck the trend?

I mean, there will be another discussion about what constitutes a decade, but that’s a windmill for another post to tackle.

Also for another post, a look back to what some would call a fairly eventful year for Melisa and me.

This post is the first looking back at the year in photos. Specifically, photos posted on the blog. Be aware there are many 2019 photos that have yet to grace these virtual pages. In fact, I might be so bold as to say some of the better photos have yet to have eyes on them. Also, some of the photos posted in 2019 were taken in 2018, but were processed and shared in 2019.

Project 313 272

At the beginning of 2019, I was in the waning days of Project 313. I won’t post many of the photos here because they have dedicated posts (HERE and HERE) showcasing everything published related to that effort. Or, if you prefer, the Flickr Album HERE.

Here’s a small gallery of a few of the final photos and doodles of what was Project 313.

January saw us back on the mainland; first in LA, then on the Coral Princess for a passage through the Panama Canal to Fort Lauderdale, and then back to LA to pick up our car for a cross-country drive to Illinois. For them who are new to the blog, we lived in Hawaiʻi for a bit of our lives.

February offered opportunities for some cooler photos . . .

March had us travel around looking for a place we’d call home for a while.

It seems a meager offering for the month, but we were a tad busy.

. . . and April was no better.

I’ll cover the rest of the year tomorrow and Tuesday. Yes, yes, I know . . . this seems uncharacteristically meager. Well, all I can say is that the first trimester is always underwhelming.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

  2. Always so glad that you present a review of your photos . . . one forgets how many wonderful ones you shared with your followers. And there’s the added bonus of reviewing the events that transpired. I, for one (and Mom, for two), are so happy that 2019 brought your residence closer to us!

    1. Thanks, Ann. The sad part is that I have many, many nice photos I yet have to process. They will probably trickle out whenever I need individual photos for posts that are not necessarily about photography.

And, yes; it’s nice being closer.
