The 1500 Words Short Story Challenge — It’s A Sweep!

I just got the result for the Professional Validation Award and it’s a SWEEP!

Perry’s story, Messes, takes the top prize. Congratulations, Perry.

For them interested in such matters, Needwood? grabbed second place and my story, Dreams, came in dead last. So much for my dreams of a writing career . . . but, I’ll persevere.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

Hang In there EJ! I, for one, have found your material to be good, interesting, and fun, …which by the way is probably the highest award level I’ve ever bestowed, not that I bestow much. You’re way up there compared to me. I once got an “B” on a paper in high school, no less, writting a synopsiss of “Dewy Rain Drop” with the final smackingly prophetic sentence of: “Without water man could not exist…and without existing man could not use water!”
You’re work is seriously lightyears ahead on mine! M:-)

Thanks, mvs, but don’t worry; I’ve always traveled a path of my making and I never doubt the direction I travel. And, since it’s my travels, I’m always heading where I want to go and I’m thus never disappointed, dejected, or disheartened.

  2. Keep persevering! Keep writing! (I know you will without anyone encouraging you to do so.)
You have a gift for writing. And I, for one, enjoy your stories AND your post-writing.
    (((HUGS))) for you and M!
PS…my high school creative writing teacher (the only writing course I ever took) said I was verbose. I think she meant that in a not-good-way. HA!
So she would not be happy to know I am still verbose. But, she probably already went to The Great Bed Bath and Beyond in the Sky, so she wouldn’t care anymore.

Thanks, Carolyn, and don’t put yourself down. You’re amazing as well and there are plenty of people who agree with that statement.

As for being verbose; it’s a good thing. Lack of communication is at the root of most human problems. OK, sometimes too much communication, but not as often.

It doesn’t seem right to press the “Like” button.

    • disperser says:

Not sure why not; if you’re concerned about how I feel about it, remember I have a huge ego. Also, as a writer (wannabe), if I can’t take rejection, I have no business (or hope) thinking I’ll ever get published.

Hit that “like”; Perry won fair and square.
