Last One; Old Favorites and Another Reminder to Vote

This is the last appeal, I promise, and here we go with more of my old photos reprocessed with Topaz Sharpen AI, Adjust AI, and Skylum Aurora HDR 2019.

This next photo was an interesting sight to behold . . . these Texas Longhorns were being unloaded from a carrier and released onto a grazing field. I missed capturing the part where they ran through the gate and dispersed onto the field; they seem happy to fatten up for the sake of future hamburgers. 

This guy kept circling above them, probably hoping for one of them to suffer a heart attack or accidentally — and fatally — stab a companion with them long and deadly looking horns . . .

After a while, he must have realized it wouldn’t happen and wandered off toward happier hunting . . . er . . . scavenging grounds.

Or, maybe, concerned about his cholesterol, went looking for some tofu carrion; usually, lots of those carrions are left for the taking.

. . . in the fall, the Longhorns shed their horns . . .

I tried these tools on something different . . . the USAFA graduation’s customary Thunderbirds show.

I missed most of them because they’re held on a weekday and — for most of my time in Colorado — I had a job. But, I photographed three of the shows. These photos are from the 2011 show.

I keep threatening to one day attend a full-blown air show . . . and come back with 2,367 photos.

With me photographing them from the ground, I was pleased with these photos.

The trick with these shows is figuring out the best spot and then hoping to get there before someone else figures out “Hey! That’s a good spot!”

I was lucky to get a few photos of the planes with Pikes Peak in the background.
