Bugs, Bees, Birds, Flowers, and Thoughts – Part 4 of 7

Wow . . . almost a week between posts. It’s like I was busy wasting time on the Internet or something.

That’s — duh! — a part of it but there’s other stuff too. Nothing worth mentioning here, I’m afraid. I mean, I could mention it but then people would feel bad for me and that would be misplaced sympathy, I tell you what.

But, on with the show . . . a mostly seagulls show, I’m afraid. Some might remember I mentioned the seagulls are slowly coming back after being absent for most of the summer.

These next two shot show how the Nikon D7500 is well-suited for them who have even a smidgen of talent for shooting birds in flight.

In case anyone is wondering, I didn’t lay own on the ground for that shot; I was on a set of stairs going down a hillside and that shot is looking up at the hill behind me.

Right after that shot, I saw another potential subject . . .

You can see a few bugs on the plant (likely caught on spider webs) but they’re not in focus.

This next photo has similar bugs “hanging” around but also a larger offering . . .

It might be difficult to spot . . . it’s at the top of the tallest grass seed stalk.

I’m reasonably certain that’s a fly . . .

It took a few photos before I realized the grass lent itself to a portrait orientation . . .

The rest of the photos are all seagulls, I’m afraid.

. . . er . . . I’m not actually afraid; it’s just a turn of phrase.

But, before we get to the gulls, a titular thought. This time, this song triggered the thought . . .

For them not interested in listening to the whole thing, here’s a portion of the lyrics:

The question references the attitude of people toward men with long hair. Especially, the attitude of people with a certain conservative bend.

I find it ironic that many of today’s CW male singers sport hair styles that make many women envious. Not all, of course, but many could easily star in Revlon commercials.

I admit to having long hair while in college . . . mostly out of laziness, but always above the shoulders.

However, I soon discovered the joy of keeping my hair short (very short) and I never looked back.

But, back to gulls . . . er . . . the back of a seagull, in this case.

I’m not sure why all these gulls were standing around on a corner of the parking lot.

Some smelled their underarms . . .

Others stood with vacant and disinterested looks . . . likely, matching the complexities of their thoughts. It reminded me of when I used to watch the news and wondering if the presenters did — in fact — have the equivalent of bird brains.

Some seemed mildly interested in the old man with a camera . . .

One couple was having an argument.

I couldn’t quite hear what it was all about but that’s just as well as I don’t speak gull.

Not that I have personal experience with such matters but I’m betting it probably has to do with bird politics. I hear they can be brutal.

Well, that’s it for the photos.

Hmm . . . this seems even shorter than usual. I suppose I could offer more of my thoughts but I’m pretty wiped from a busy week . . . how about I share some jokes, instead?

Yup, I know it well . . . I can easily argue both sides of an argument, usually, better than the person on the other side. That’s because if you want to justify your position to both others and yourself, you need to know the opposite view as well as you know your own.

*sigh* I’m betting that the DNC Main Office . . . they’re so going to hand Trump another four years, and that’s depressing.

I’m so requesting that at my funeral! . . . you know, if anyone attends.

Having owned cats, I can attest to the reality presented. We opted for no kids, but I hear it’s occasionally the same with young kids. You know, before they turn into self-entitled and spoiled brats.

That’s not too far removed to how I see the up-and-coming generations . . . and I mean from toddlers up to 25-year-olds.

Let me end on a lighter note; I really like this next cartoon . . .
