Project 313 – Post No. 313

No post linked today since this is the last post of Project 313. Three-hundred-thirteen posts . . . Three-hundred-thirteen photos . . . Three-hundred-thirteen cartoons . . . Three-hundred-fourteen doodles.

I understand a lot of people got bored with the whole concept and the effort; rest assured I don’t mind as I’m prone to similar reactions to various projects. To those who stuck with it, kudos on your fortitude and thank you for putting up with all the silliness, tediousness, and other nesses that currently escape me.

And now, the photo:

Project 313 313

I hope this captures the spirit of this last post. Thank you for reading along with me and thank you for all the likes and comments.

I think this is the perfect cartoon to end both Project 313 and my tribute to the genius the is Joe Martin and his creations.

. . . I really want to see the next frame . . . but I can easily imagine it because I know the characters. Thank you, Joe Martin, for having consistently provided laughs through nearly three decades of my life (and hopefully more).

So, here we are . . . at last . . . The End Is Here — Ablaze.

The End Is Here — Ablaze

. . . and then . . . The End Is Here — Goodnight.

The End Is Here — Goodnight

And . . . that’s it

Some of these posts will likely be longer as the mood hits me, but most will be thus; short, uninteresting, bland, and relentless.

You can read about Project 313 HERE.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

      Thanks, Carolyn.

It was a tough slog and some days I nearly had to make an effort just to be brilliant instead of amazing. Luckily, it comes naturally so this isn’t nearly a wonderful feat as it might seem.

I have to admit to a certain sense of loss . . . much like a 12-years-old gymnast must feel after winning the Olympic gold. I mean, what more can one do once reaching the culmination of one’s ambitions?

My situation isn’t as bad as a 12-years-old because being much older, I don’t have that long to go and plus no one expects much from me at this age (they’re amazed if I can feed myself, walk around without drooling (much), and tie my shoes on my own).

The poor 12-years-old . . . they’re expected to continue doing amazing stuff but, instead, they invariably join the Ice Capades which — in my opinion — is a step backward from Olympic Gold.

I suppose I’ll go back to doing uninspired posts whose sole redeeming quality is that of being infrequent.

      Oh, well.

There are a few Willy and Ethel cartoons that vie for bestest cartoon ever (in the Disperser Book of Bestest Cartoons) and that one now joins their rank.

As your doodle would indicate, the ship has sailed into the sunset! Bon voyage, Project 313!

Your final offerings complement the theme very well . . . praises for a job well done, E!

Thank you, Ann. It was a sometime fun ride and a sometime chore rivaling Sisyphus’s labor. My stubbornness and many snacks helped me through it . . . plus the Samsung Note 8, the Nikon D7000, the Nikon P900, Photoshop, Lightroom, Topaz Labs, Nik’s Collection, OnOne Suite, DxO Photo Lb, and a few other programs providing support along the periphery.

Not to mention the thousands of photos at my disposal, the gargantuan effort by Joe Martin and his amazing humor, and a slew of Android apps.

And coffee . . . and tea . . . and the occasional cup of camomilla.

I’d be remiss if I ignored my desktop PC and (more recently) the Dell Laptop; thanks, guys (or gals; don’t know nothing about computer genders), for powering the tools I used.

Let’s see . . . anyone else? Well, the internet providers, the people who laid the fiber-optic cables, the technicians who keep it all running, the computers and phones manufacturers.

In short, I thank the whole world for making Project 313 possible. Take a bow, everyone.
