2) There’s a PLAY/PAUSE button at the bottom-left of the screen with the transition set at about 5 seconds. Note: clicking the PLAY arrow will run a full-screen slideshow. You can then still use the”<” and “>” symbols to the left or right of the photos as this will pause the slideshow.

These are June’s straggler photos . . . not bad overall and one even competes for the title of my favorite June photo.

No, that’s not it; I’ll tell you when we get to it.

Meanwhile, a bit of background on these photos. They are all from a visit to Volcano Village while the volcano was still acting up and the National Park was closed. It’s open again and we’ll probably swing by there one of these days to see what has changed since our last visit.

Anyway, Melisa was in a quilting shop and I wandered around the parking lot and adjacent buildings. Oh, also, it was raining.

In case you’re wondering, that the Kahili Ginger flower.

As usual, I have to give a nod to the ability of the Note 8 to capture decent photos in low light conditions.

As well as shooting macros . . .

Did I mention it was raining? Yes, and breezy, too.

But, I mentioned my (possibly) favorite photo from June . . . here it is:

I know, it’s not much to look at but I really like it . . .

I also like the mural that was on one of the buildings; a mural I’d not noticed before.

As I was shooting the mural, I noticed a nice scene to the side of the building so I swung the phone over to capture it . . .

. . . before swinging back to the mural . . .

I know I sound like a broken record but that looks like something I could draw . . . you know, if I tried drawing it.

There were also flowers that are usually difficult to capture in bright conditions (they get washed out) . . .

In this case, the low light helped keep the reds from getting blown out. That’s a Red Ginger (I think). Honest, it could also be a Red Tower Ginger. All I know for sure is that it’s a Ginger and it’s red.

And I think these next flowers are Allamanda. Maybe.

And, that’s it for the Note 8 (sharable) June 2018 photos.

But, I have a few more videos to share . . .

First up, a crab foraging for something in the crevices of the lava along the shore.

Remember to watch in HD, if you can.

Next up, another video of people waiting for a wave to knock them into the pool . . .

Next up, waves washing up at my feet. It might look like I got wet, but no . . . I was standing on a lava rock that barely topped the incoming wave.

Next up, a couple of short videos from a park down the road from us . . .

If you listen carefully you might hear the sound of well-worn (lava) stones rolling over each other as the waves move them around. Eh; you had to be there, I suppose.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

  1. Your photos have such brilliant colors and cool textures.
I especially enjoyed the leaves! Seeing the plants and flowers washed by the rain, and holding onto the drops of water is beautiful.
The vids are always fun! I watched the crab vid twice!
    HUGS!!! 🙂
