I’m busy, honest!

To some, it may look like I’m slacking off in my posting. Well, I’m here to tell you that once you retire, you’ll find time just slips through your fingers. Whereas I used to be able to do a lot when I was working forty hours a week — fifty, if you count travel times — I now don’t seem to have the time to do basic stuff like personal hygiene, taking out the garbage, and doing laundry. Thank goodness for disposable wipes, the woods behind and below our condo unit, and cheap clothes. 

I often envy animals living out in the wild . . . you just sit out in the rain to wash your durable fur and you can just drop your poo where ever you want. Some even choose to sling it. If they ever evolve, they’ll probably be politicians. 

That happens to be one of my submissions to Monochrome Madness, as is this next shot . . .

I have them here just so they get a few eyes on them. I don’t think many of my readers visit Monochrome Madness. 

Anyway, as an update, I’ve spent a couple of days processing photos from the second day of our 2017 Alaska Cruise, when we visited Yakutat Bay. Here’s the thing . . . I’ve managed to pare down 602 photos into a mere 141 photos and of those, 18 are panoramas. 

Get this; a third of those are over 20 MB each and one tops out at 38.5 MB (something like seventeen photos stringed together to show the glacier in the bay).

I still have to process and sort out the videos so it might be a few days before I begin posting those. I’ll probably have to split the total into at least two posts but even so, they are going to be long posts. 

For them who think I’m taking too long, I’ll remind you there are other posts (for example, HERE) from the cruise and also that I have 8,859 photos I have to process. It may take a while. 

Today, I’m debating if I want to get up at 3:30am (local time) to see the total lunar eclipse. Can’t decide if it’s worth losing what little sleep I get. Last night, I took these two shots of the nearly-full moon.

I’ve seen a couple of total lunar eclipses in my life (actually, I think it was three) so there’s not a tremendous incentive. 

Let’s see, what else? Oh, yeah, I still need to process the photos from the woodcraft show I attended last week. Here’s a beautiful Koa piece . . . 

The thing with Koa is that it seems like you’re seeing deep into the grain, as if it were made of crystal. It’s difficult to explain.

I took all the photos using the phone as it was easier to find shooting angles that avoided annoying reflections. There were other things there besides wood works of art . . . 

. . . things like this, which I would like but don’t want to spend over $1,000 on . . . 

When I have a proper office again, I’ll indulge in a couple of crystal pieces, including a crystal ball. 

I have other photos from the phone which I’ll eventually have to process and share . . . 

And, that’s not even counting stuff I still have from last year that I want to share. So much to do, so little time . . . I understand, now, why astronauts wear diapers. Who has the time for a proper bathroom break?

Oh, FSM! . . . I just remembered I’m also supposed to write fiction!
