I shot about 10,500 photos in 2016, but that’s far more than I posted on the blog (despite what some people might think). Still, I do post a lot and there are, obviously, too many photos for me to review . . . but I can give it a try. Here’s a retrospective (part 1) on my 2016 photography efforts.
It stands to reason that some of my January photos had to do with snow. Winters in Monument are relatively nice, but when snow decided to fall, it was serious about it.
I never minded snow . . . it gave me plenty of opportunities for photos.
But, there was more than snow that I conveyed via photos . . .
Throughout the year, I made it a point to play around with the Topaz Plugins, Lightroom, Photoshop, onOne Suite 10, and DxO Optics Pro 11. For instance, my efforts gave me this composite that I like . . .
I also presented photos of things that I would set aside during the Summer and Fall specifically to photograph during the winter . . .
But, back to playing around, one of my favorite instances (from THIS February post) was my treatment of the Chicago Bean. Below, are three of the many versions I presented.
I also occasionally looked back at pre-blog timeline photographs, like the ones of Pulpit Rock in Colorado Springs.
For them who don’t know, we moved in June and in preparation for the selling of the house and moving, we got rid of almost everything we owned. I kept a few things . . . the Beach Globe was one of them.
In February 2016, I was still finishing up the novel I started for NaNoWriMo 2015 (my third NaNoWriMo) and each update was accompanied by photos from the 2015 Annual Tri-Lakes Cruisers Show. The complete set of photos are in THIS Gallery, but here are a few of the 523 photos in the gallery.
In March 2016, I intermingled photos of the cruisers with photos of some of our 2015 travels.
Still in March, the Cruisers photos switched to the macro shots as I continued documenting the photos from our last visit to Yellowstone NP.
That’s the end of the first quarter of 2016. If interested in anything in particular, it’s best going directly to the originating post. The sidebar has the option to bring up posts from individual months for them wanting to review things in order (my favorite way to review my stuff when I’m in the mood to do so).
That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

Please, if you are considering bestowing me recognition beyond commenting below, refrain from doing so. I will decline blogger-to-blogger awards. I appreciate the intent behind it, but I prefer a comment thanking me for turning you away from a life of crime, religion, or making you a better person in some other way. That would mean something to me.
