It’s difficult deciding when to post wishes for the new year. Never mind that not all the world is on the same schedule, some celebrate their new year in different months.
My rule, which I just made up, is within a 24 hour period from local midnight. That should pretty much guarantee you will, at least, hit close. With that in mind . . .
To all my readers, my sincere wishes that you each experience the best possible outcome for your 2016 endeavors.
(and beyond, but for now, let’s concentrate on 2016)
I also thank you for whatever time you took from your interests and spent visiting my humble offerings. I did receive the 2015 tally . . . I had a couple of thousands more visitors than 2014 even though I had almost half as many posts. The visitors came from 112 countries (93 countries for 2014).
As for said visitors, the core group did not change much. They jockeyed for position, but no new player came into the standings.
Anyone interested in the very brief report, HERE YOU GO. Basically, posts from a few years ago drew most of the visitors. I don’t mind since those posts are all Firefly related.
Normally, the first post of each month is my monthly calendar. As I mentioned last month, that’s been discontinued for 2016.
However, I do have something I can offer . . . PanosFX had a free app for subscribers. It lets someone, let’s say me, create a prism year calendar. Like, for instance, these.
Those three-sided calendars can be customized with any set of three photos. You can change the colors (I left them as they are), the language (I left them in English), and choose whether you want the week to start on Sunday or Monday (I left it at Sunday).
I made seven calendars . . .
I chose those with the idea that readers can download and print any or all of them, depending on their preferences.
That’s right . . . right-click on each of the above, choose “Save as”, save them to your drive, and print them out. After printing them out, follow the instructions on the tab to create your own prism calendar.
OR . . . click on any of them and they will open in a new window or tab, then you can either look at them at full resolution, or save them, or both.
They work best if you print them on slightly heavier stock (I used matte photo paper). I suppose you can also use them flat on a wall.
If you do opt to make the prism, glue works better than two-sided tape (what I used) because you can adjust and line up the seams a lot better (remember to clip it until the glue dries). The two-sided tape works well, but if you happen to align it wrong, you’re basically screwed. I mean, it’s not the end of the world . . . unless you are an anal retentive cuss who can’t stand stuff that is not perfectly lined up. Just saying.
They will (should) print out at 8.5 by 11, but if anyone wants, I can output them as A4. Also, in any of these languages:
Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish.
As long as I am not flooded with requests (doubtful, given my readership), I’ll rework any of those to your preferred language and add them at the end of this post (before the disclaimer). You can even mix and match the photos (I have them all in one big file).
The only thing I won’t do is change the color scheme (difficult to agree on colors and it’s also a bit of a pain).
Once more, Happy New Year and Thank You.

I thought you volunteered at the museum . . . You might not get paid, but you do work, right? Or do you no longer do that? Don’t tell me you now just sit around giving visitor the evil eye!

I’m still at the museum and I love it. It’s work but unlike any paying job I’ve ever had. It’s the best job I’ve ever had if you don’t count the one where I painted lines in the middle of a road in a tunnel using a stencil made of wood and a brush.

So . . . work . . . do they have a printer, preferably a color one?

Congratulations on being #1! And well deserved, too, since your comments are always filled with joy and smiles. I took a detour upon a darker road for a while, but now I found my way back to the lighter one. And don’t worry about your throne, you’ll probably keep reigning in 2016! Best of luck to you.

Thanks! I’m so glad you found your way back to a lighter road.
I don’t worry about a throne or being #1 at anything.
I think when it comes to blogging and comments, I just talk a lot…have a lot to say. My goal is actually to be quieter in 2016. 😉 😀

You could print them all . . . one for the kitchen, one for the bathroom, one for the bedroom, one for the living room, one for the family room, one for the garage, and one for the car’s dash. If you have more rooms you can print multiple copies of each.

You replied that you have a lot to say . . . well, so do I. But I’ve been afraid all my life to express myself. So, how about we make 2016 the year we say it more . . . not LESS! We have a voice, so let’s use it!
A BIG HUG back to you!

AnnMarie: I’m so sorry you’ve been afraid to express yourself. 😦 I understand that a little…as I child I was strongly discouraged not to express negative emotions like sadness and anger…and with 10 people in the house, my opinion was rarely acknowledged.
Even with all of that, I was still quite the talker. And when I left home at age 17 I found people liked to hear me talk. 🙂
You are SO right…we should express ourselves MORE in 2016. You have encouraged me to do so. (I really was going to speak less.)
More HUGS!!! 🙂
