NaNoWriMo No. 3 – Third Update

I missed a day of writing, but I did get a little written.

I am still behind the pace as can be seen by my self-tracking tool. More than I was the other day.

As of tonight, I have 11,296 words written. That means I am tracking at a negative 5,374 words. Considering I missed four days of writing, I’m happy with my pace. Tomorrow might be another bad day for writing. Thursday will probably be no better. We’ll see.

Which brings me to posting what I have written. As in prior years, all of it will go up on the blog. But, as in prior years, all but the first two chapters are offered up in password-protected posts.

E-mail me a request if you are interested in reading further (read the first to chapters to decide if you are interested.)

The post with Chapters 5 and 6 will go up immediately after this one. As I said, it’s password protected.

Please, don’t just ask for a password just to make me feel good. Unless you intend to read it, don’t ask. I will not feel hurt, I will not cry myself to sleep, I will not hate anyone who chooses not to read my effort. I will, however, get a little miffed if I get asked for passwords by a bunch of people and then only my usual four or five readers actually read the stuff.

Anyway, tomorrow (or today, depending when this goes up) is Veteran’s Day. I came by this video from a friend. It’s worth listening and watching.

I have a few photos I shared before that are appropriate for the day. I had planned on getting new ones, but it’s late and I am tired.

Even though these photos appear in another SmugMug gallery, I’ve added them to the gallery I list below.

The full-size photos are in the SmugMug gallery HERE. That gallery will eventually contain all of the photos I use for my NNWM-2K15 update posts.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

Please, if you are considering bestowing me recognition beyond commenting below, refrain from doing so.  I will decline blogger-to-blogger awards.   I appreciate the intent behind it, but I prefer a comment thanking me for turning you away from a life of crime, religion, or making you a better person in some other way.  That would mean something to me.

Thank you . . . all but the first one are from Gettysburg. If you have not watched the movie, it is well worth watching. The site itself is also worth a visit.

The first photo is from a cemetery in the Little Big Horn NP. The tombs of Custer’s men are dispersed where they fell. The Custer National Cemetary housed within the park has the graves of known and unknown veterans of our nation’s wars, including women and children from isolated frontier posts, Indians, scouts, and Medal of Honor recipients.

      • Yes, great movie!
Thank you for sharing more about the photos with me!
Omygosh…the password is not working for me. :-( Is there a new one since chapters 3 and 4?!?

I just tested it. It should be working. I know it sounds dumb, but copy the password directly from the e-mail and paste it in there. If it works, it means you must have mistyped (remember, all lower case and a space between the two words, not before and not after).

        • I did that and it didn’t work for some reason. I copied it from back the (of the word) to the front…so maybe that including something it shouldn’t have. Just now I copied it from front to back and it worked! So I can read now! :-)
