It’s a replacement for the regular camera. I don’t think it’s as easy to use (or maybe I need to use it more), but I also think for most situations it takes a better photo. It also seems to moderate the AutoFlash much better than the regular camera app on my Note, meaning the pictures come out looking very well balanced, and you can’t tell it was with the flash (usually).
One picky complaint is that it does not make use of the voice command to snap the photo, which for many situations where I want to use the phone it’s a bit more difficult to deploy than the normal app. By that I mean that snapping the photo is more difficult because you have to both hold the phone steady and press the button (or poke the screen), whereas with the other one I just have to worry about holding the phone and say ‘shoot’.
However, at least for these last two days, these are definitely better photos than I snapped a few days ago with the other app (the previous snow and frost shots).
Understand that I took a bit of care post-processing these; I might have rushed on the others. Still, the base photographs look better.
The only complaint I have is that some of the photos have a tinge on the corners, but that’s also in the regular app as well. I think the lens or sensor don’t handle low light as well as they might. The regular app also produces a ‘warm’ spot in the middle of the photo that is not present in these. I’m referring when taking photos of gray and dark subjects like these.

I was going to title the photos, but was in a rush. The frog would have been ‘Mohawk Frog’.
I was reasonably pleased with many of these, do it’s nice others enjoy them too.

I agree…. the frog looks very different…. very dressed up for a gala… with that hairdo. Perhaps a princess kissed him? Better try again. Not quite a prince yet, but getting there…

It can be pretty . . . it is pretty, but also a pain to deal with, occasionally. Less so now that I am home. This morning it looks even more amazing, and I snapped a few pictures that will probably not do it justice.
If it lasts I’ll snap a few more when we get back from the gym.

I do like the Mohawk Frog but the first color photo of the snow covered grass tuft is splendid. It would look awesome as a large print over a fireplace.
