Introduction
I used to do whole posts showcasing photos from our visits to various antique shops. I still have a lot of unprocessed photos, but some are redundant, some are ho-hum, and some deserve a post of their own.
The latter is the basis for my decision to do a series called “Just Stuff”.
It will be a series of unrelated photos that might have, or might not have been treated with various effects and enhancements. Some are fairly straight forward. Some will take a shot at making people laugh . . . or at least smile.
Basically, they are photos that caught my eye, and I played with them to present and preserve them here. They will also be added to THIS GALLERY in SmugMug as each post is published.

The conditions that precipitated the Dust Bowl, also known as the Dirty Thirties, were the result of the confluence of WW I, the Russian revolution, and the rapid mechanization of farm equipment, among others.

I mention the current drought because the other condition that precipitated the events that would produce ‘The Grapes of Wrath’ and ‘Of Mice and Men’ was a persistent drought.
By the way, I could not stand either the books or the movies . . . still can’t.
I always thought people who enjoy reading those books or watching those movies had either too much drama in their lives (hence becoming addicted to it) or not enough (hence vicariously living through the tragedy of others).
Anyone with just the right amount of drama in their lives have no need to read those books or watch those movies.
The picture itself was taken at an antique shop in Montrose, and needed very little effort to have it look like it must have looked back then.

Disperser Tracks 
I did read the book, as part of an American Novels course, and thought it was very well written. But not something I would ever read again. Droughts can be a very terrible thing. The picture, however, is good. I do like the pictures you take of very old vehicles, equipment, household items, toys, all the paraphernalia of the past.

I met some senior adults in San Fransisco whose families came to CA during the “grapes of wrath” times…when they were just little children then…they had interesting stories to tell.
