NaNoWriMo No. 2 – Chapter 31 pre-post

This chapter encompasses my NaNoWriMo writing for the 29th of November.

Time is tight . . . deadline looming large just over my shoulder, the noose of responsibility tightening around my neck, the weight of self-imposed quest for artistic and creative excellence making it difficult to accomplish much more than baby steps . . .

OK, it’s not that bad. I will take a shot at finishing before December 4th, but even before then we will be on the road. It’s difficult to write from the road. Also difficult to do these kinds of posts since for the first time ever I’ll be traveling without the laptop.

It’s all going to be on the phone, and while it’s a capable phone, it will be limited.

Not making excuses . . . I aim to finish this puppy in the next four to six days, but I don’t really know how much time I will have. I’ll have time after the 4th, but then the connectivity issue comes into play.

As I said, we’ll see . . . meanwhile . . . .

Chapter 31 will go live in a password-protected post, shortly after this post.

Here’s my progress so far (I might write some more later this evening):

Nov29chart

I wrote 1,762 words yesterday in a tad over one and half hour, giving me a cumulative total of 56,587 words. Noticed I modified the chart since I am past the 50K and am going to go past November 30th.

Here’s my usual ending, disclaimers, and stuff for these posts.

It should be just as obvious I plan to keep going and finish this puppy.

There is one caveat . . . we will be traveling in early December (very early December), and as the date draws near, other things are going to press me for time.

The plan is to put this to bed before I leave. Should I not be able to do so, know that where we are going I will have limited internet access and usage. I will do my best to be timely, but there is a chance, if I don’t finish before we leave, it will have to wait until I come back . . . what will seem a long wait for some.

For them interested in using my spreadsheet, a previous post explains it and provides links for getting either a copy of the Google Docs version, or downloading the Excel Spreadsheet version. That post is HERE.

Anyone wanting to read the novel, please shoot me an e-mail requesting the password, or leave a comment below to that effect.

As a point of information, asking for the password does not mean I will subscribe, or even read, your blog. It just means you get the password. Perhaps I might get curious and check you out, perhaps not.

One other thing.

Last year I did a precis . . . I know some people like the precis. I did it last year because I stopped writing for a few months, and then I was not writing regularly.

This puppy is going to be finished before the end of the month. I won’t have time to write a precis, and the timeframe is short enough to perhaps make its absence irrelevant. If not . . . sorry.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.
