Quick Update

I’m busy with some work around the house, so my posting is taking a break . . . well, not much of a break since I’m posting. However, my main computer is not set up, and probably won’t be for a few days, ergo no photos . . . but maybe a little writing.

We are coming up on Halloween, and I do plan to write an appropriate story for it . . . but meantime, I thought I would point new subscribers, and there are a number of them who apparently want to sell me stuff and have me look at their blog so they can sell me stuff, to some of my previous works of fiction, also themed for the season

First up, Halloween from a few years ago:

https://disperser.wordpress.com/2012/10/31/the-halloween-2012-post/

There is a short story in the post, as well as some twitter stories (posts) from 2011 (NanoWeen).

To new subscribers:
OK, I know the majority of you just subscribed to sell your own stuff, or get traffic to your site . . . but, for the few that are actually reading this, know that I like the story in that post. Well, OK, you got me . . . I like everything I write.

I seldom write what I would call “dark” fiction. There is one piece I wrote that will never see the light of day because . . . well, not important.

But this next piece is also dark . . .

For readers who might have already read those, honest . . . they are worth reading again; it will tie you over until my new Halloween fiction makes it to virtual page.

Got to set this for publication tomorrow morning, and then I have to hit the sack.

Why?

It pissed me off, that’s why. Plus, I don’t like sacks. Goodnight.

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

  1. Thanks for sharing these. I enjoy reading dark, scary, thriller fiction (Halloween-y)!!! You seem to have a knack for it! I got goosebumps reading The Mission. (And I rarely get goosebumps! 😮 )
Can’t wait to read your this years Halloween story. 🙂
Hope your work around the house is going well.
Hope you hit the sack and the sack didn’t hit you.
    HUGS!!! Happy Monday!!! 🙂

  2. Do groups of children or groups of adults still sit around the fire telling ghost tales? That used to be a pastime when I was younger, with each one telling a more gory story as the evening went on.

    1. Yes, but these days it’s about the loss of WiFi, or stories of cable service being interrupted, and people having to actually talk to each other.

Seriously, I don’t know. I never had that experience at any point of my life. Then again, the news can be scary enough.

      1. If you are American, news can be not only depressing but scary. However, if you are Asian, the news is so graphic you probably won’t look at it again. For a while we subscribed to a Chinese newspaper and could not believe the photos they used. In the US, families would have sued them for all they had.

      2. Different attitudes and sensibilities . . . and perhaps less entitlement.

Then again, in the days of gangsters wars, it was not unusual to see photos of people who had been shot.

There are disturbing photos and even videos from 9/11 and the Boston Bombing.

Not saying one is right or wrong, but I often wonder if the bad things that happen have been so sanitized as to be less horrific in people’s mind than perhaps they should be.
