Spring day in Monument, Colorado

This was the view off my deck when I got up this morning . . .

Don’t get me wrong, we’re happy about it; we need the moisture.

This was the view from the front door . . .

But, even as we are happy for the moisture, that was over five hours ago. We now have what I would estimate as 10 to 12 inches of snow . . . which I will have to clear. Wet, heavy snow.

The one plus is I get to hear my bell.

It’s quite windy, you see, and while it will mean drifts higher than I would like, I hear the constant ringing of my bell, outside. I like the sound of it; high and clear.

. . . I hope it annoys my neighbors as much as their barking dogs annoy me . . .

That’s it. This post has ended . . . except for the stuff below.

Hahaha! Did you buy that bell just to annoy the neighborhood dogs? With the added bonus of their owners unable to keep themselves from joining the chorus? We had snow too, but it just covered the ground and was gone by noon-time, like a little benign April Fool’s joke from Mother Nature.

Beautiful pictures. Really. It will get warm and sunny and the hummingbirds will be back soon.

I bought that bell in the late 80’s as a souvenir from our NorthEastern trip (Vermont, New York, New Hampshire, Main, etc). It used to hang on our house in Michigan, but never rang as much as it does here . . .

. . . and yes, I hung it up here because the neighbors are always making noise (kids, music, dogs), and I thought I should partake.

    Freaking neighbors’ dogs…..

The snow has remained in the mountains with this round of weather (for us), so it’s been a while since I had to do any shoveling of the white stuff myself….but it hasn’t really gotten old for the four winters that I’ve spent here.

Anyway, I enjoyed the pictures of your Spring day…. :)

I thought I’d chime in about the nice shots of the snow and especially about your beautiful bell.

I’m not ready to put away the snow blower yet, either. And we don’t need the moisture.

I seem to have missed the snow this year for the most with my traveling about, so nice to see some of the white stuff. Love the chime, it has a hand crafted look about it.
