I mentioned before I am a big fan of waves. Pretty much all waves, but the ones along the rocky shores of Ali Drive in Kona-Kailua seem to me (and I admit a bias) some of the best I’ve seen. I’ve seen larger, louder, more violent . . . but . . . look at this:

If you watched the animated GIF at the beginning, you’ve seen the sequence of photos culminating in a geyser of spray.

Here’s a more leisurely look at a few of the photos making up the slide show . . .

Sometimes the wave hits with more volume, and the resulting spray is higher.

Some may have noticed a small finger-like lava peninsula heading out from the shore. Apparently, that is a great place to fish from. Not that I would do it, but some evidently do.

Anyway, a quick look as to why I like waves.
