It’s been a busy time

This is a general notice to many of the bloggers I follow . . . Between NaNoWriMo, painting, and travel, I’ve fallen good and truly behind not only in posting stuff, but reading stuff.

I did get notices of new blog posts, and if I had a few minutes, I’ve look at a few, but the vast majority were left for “later”.

I’m here to tell you something profound and life-changing.

. . . Later never comes . . .

No, no . . . no need to thank me. As it happens, I have tremendous stores of wisdom, and sharing a bit of it will hardly make a dent in my personal stash.

Where was I? Oh, yeah . . . As I sit here waiting for the plane to begin boarding, I am struck with a revelation about the likelihood of me actually reading all the posts I missed.

Mind you, I want to. The blogs I follow, I do so for a simple reason. They are of interest to me.

But I must also be a realist, and I want to do justice to them. Rather than barely glancing at all the old posts, I rather give new posts the attention they deserve.

There is a chance that, as I clear my old emails, something catches my eye, and I read a few posts here or there, but the majority will remain unread.

But, fear not!

. . . I also don’t expect you to read my amazing contributions to humanity, and indeed, to posterity.

No, no . . . No need to thank me; it’s the last I can do. The very least, in fact.

Please, if you are considering bestowing me some recognition beyond commenting below, refrain from doing so.  I will decline nominations whereby one blogger bestows an award onto another blogger, or group of bloggers.   I appreciate the intent behind it, but I would much prefer a comment thanking me for turning you away from a life of crime, religion, or making you a better person in some other way.  That would actually mean something to me.

Should you still nominate me, I will strongly suspect you pulled my name at random, and that you are not, in fact, a reader of my blog.  If you wish to know more, please read below.

About awards: Blogger Awards          About “likes”:   Of “Likes”, Subscriptions, and Stuff

Note: to those who may click on “like”, or rate the post; if you do not personally hear from me, know that I am sincerely appreciative, and I thank you for noticing what I do.

Don’t bother reading this comment either.

  2. Great post. ;-) That’s what I have to do. When I step out for long periods of time, I have to just jump back in and go forward. Hope to do that now that NaNo is over.

My anal-retentive-semi-OCD personality is making it difficult to do so. I find myself going back to read stuff.

Although I do pass on some things that don’t immediately catch my interest.

Hello! Hope your flight was ok. And thanks so much for reading my posts with such attention. I mean it and it makes me happy to read that you follow a blog because you’re really interested. Happy Friday :)

Came back with a sore throat and feeling as if I have been pummeled by angry, noisy, unruly kids . . .

      . . . it’s not helping that it’s -14deg (F) outside, but glad to be back home.

As for your blog, you provide lots of information in a topic I did not know I was interested in until I read about it. Well, that’s not true; I like architecture, but it’s nice to get some background on it, and to have interesting sites pointed out to me that I did not know about beforehand.

I have 32,000 , to date. Not losing hope, though. Holiday vacation is just around the corner.

Afraid I missed the NaNoWriMo reference – I did that once, so now I understand you cramming my site into one day – Thanks again.

You mean you think there are some people who don’t read every word you write, breathless with anticipation for your next utterances?

You know, your blog is a breath of fresh air, a lighthearted reality check when I might find myself getting bogged down in the ‘I’m so behind with commenting’ swamp. That’s why I come back. Don’t change.
