Late again . . . but I have an excuse. I’m busy. Too busy to blog, to mine my fertile imagination for stories, to herd my photographs into orderly albums . . . too busy.
You can see it in the calendar below . . . those photos should have better borders, blend in as if they had been casually tossed on a tabletop. Sloppy . . .
But, hey . . . lucky you guys got anything at all. Mind you, not that many would have noticed if I missed a month; from 259 subscribers, I’m lucky to get ten visits a day. And most of those are from random searches, so I am guessing the majority are not human eyes, but rather bored search robots, diligently scanning the vast valleys of the internet for interesting stuff for an ever more fickle public.
Such is the power of the Internet . . . to present one’s anonymity in a pretty visual package.
Anyway, I can’t bitch about it too much . . . one has to post to attract visitors (although that was not the case with my daily posts on Still Life concepts – viewership actually dropped with each post). I’m lucky enough to have a few regulars, and these posts are mostly for them, and a little for me.
This months offering comes from out 2010 visit to the El Paso County Paint Mines Park.
The full SmugMug gallery is HERE (careful . . . it was written at a time when I included a full narrative in the albums). The first photo is one I modified using one of Pano’s actions (Out of Bound). Did a blog post on it, too. This month’s offering has a theme . . . can anyone guess it. That’s right! . . . the absence of ducks!
Right-Hand Click anywhere on the picture, and Choose “Save Link As . . . “.
Note that clicking “Save Image” will download the resampled image (640×974, 72dpi) WordPress created for the post. Suitable for viewing on the screen, but not suitable for printing.
“Save link as” downloads the native size of 11×17, 300dpi, but can be printed smaller. Printing larger may have mixed results depending on how knowledgeable you are.
Of course, saving is not required . . . one can just ignore the post. If you are adventuresome, and it does not work, let me know, and I’ll try to fix whatever WordPress screwed up..
Disclaimers: I do not guarantee accuracy of the calendar. My general understanding of time is limited to it being (mostly) an arbitrary demarcation of the unidirectional flow of existence. Many instances in my life have demonstrated to me the disconnect between any hard measure of intervals of time, and the perception of said time intervals.
Worse yet, at a future time that will never be, I will likely not remember stuff that happened at a time long forgotten because it never was. Such is life.
Once again, I found an error after I had done all the work . . . July 4th is a holiday, and it should be in red. Tell you what . . . close your eyes, and think of a baboon in heat . . . specifically their red rump. Ponder on it, visualizing the bright color, the texture, and if so inclined, the aroma.
Now open your eyes . . . the 4th is still black, but I got you to fantasize about a monkey’s ass. Neat, uh?
Remember, you don’t have to use the calendar portion . . . you can cut out the bottom part, and you have a picture you can hang on your wall.
Astute persons might have noticed these doodles, and correctly surmised they hold some significance for me, and perhaps for humanity at large. Click on the doodle for an explanation of their origin.
If you click on the doodle, and nothing happens, this is the link it’s supposed to go to: https://disperser.wordpress.com/2011/12/26/palm-vx-and-i/. Note . . . there is no guarantee WordPress will keep this as a link, but at least you can copy it and paste it on a browser’s address field.
Please, if you are considering bestowing me recognition beyond commenting below, refrain from doing so. I will decline nominations whereby one blogger bestows an award onto another blogger, or group of bloggers. I appreciate the intent behind it, but I would much prefer a comment thanking me for turning you away from a life of crime, religion, or making you a better person in some other way. That would actually mean something to me.
Should you still nominate me, I will strongly suspect you pulled my name at random, and that you are not, in fact, a reader of my blog. If you wish to know more, please read below.
Note: to those who may click on “like”, or rate the post; if you do not personally hear from me, know that I am sincerely appreciative, and I thank you for noticing what I do.
. . . my FP ward . . . chieken shit.
